| One could say that Nina Chantele didn’t choose radio, radio chose her. The Chicago native became a radio personality in 2000 after her friend and mentor, radio veteran Rick Party, strongly suggested that she turn in an air check to local stations. Although she had no experience in radio, two days later she received a call from Jay Alan of WPWX. Nina was a natural on the mic and after dedicating herself to learning the fundamentals of being a radio professional she quickly went from an unknown medical billing specialist to a popular on-air personality powerhouse known as Nina Chantele. The woman who now reigns the middays at Chicago’s WKSC - 103.5 KISS FM.After a year as a part-timer on WPWX, Nina caught the attention of Clear Channel Radio’s Doc Wynter and was offered her first full-time gig at WMIB in Miami, Florida doing afternoon drive. She quickly won over the locals and when the numbers came in she was #1 in her first book, confirming that radio truly is her calling. Offers to voice track WSSP in Charleston, South Carolina and WBTT in Ft. Myers, Florida soon followed. In less than two years in the game this rookie was dominating on three stations! Nina Chantele later moved to KXBT in Austin, TX and followed it with a move to KZZA in Dallas, TX. In 2006, she was asked to return home to top 40 station WKSC. She’s now seven years deep in the game and doesn’t show signs of slowing down anytime soon.With each move Nina Chantele has demonstrated her versatility---working with urban, hurban and top 40 formats. She’s also proven that she can hold her own and bring in the numbers whether in market number 40 or market number 3. Her friendly “you can tell me anything” persona intermingled with infectious humor, informative celebrity interviews and hit songs keeps her listeners tuned in daily to receive a dose of Latina love.In this male-dominated industry, Nina considers herself a spokesperson for women. Each time she opens her mouth she seeks to represent strong, intelligent, successful, driven women, while encouraging others to work hard to achieve their dreams. This multi-talented communicator has also proven herself to be a desirable commodity in the voice over arena. Nina Chantele has voiced hundreds of commercials heard in multiple markets, but she is most proud of being selected as the national voice of Sean Jean’s popular fragrance Unforgivable for Men.Nina Chantele spends her free time supporting charitable causes, using the powerful medium of radio to bring about positive change. The organization closest to her heart is the Kleo Barrett Angel Foundation, which assists battered women and the victims of domestic violence. She has also helped launch an initiative to encourage Chicago students to attend school regularly.Nina Chantele may have gotten into radio by accident, but it is obvious that this was her destiny.
