| My name is Isolde. I was born in Ireland to King Donnchadh. The story of how I met and loved Tristan is a legend to be told through time. I found him on the beach and he was presumed dead by his family and friends. He was wounded by a sword which contained posion on it. I knew the antidote and soon helped him to be able to walk again. I feel in love with him more and move every time I visited him. One day my father found out about his boat and they were going to soon find him. So I told him to leave and that soon fate would bring us together again. It did, I saw him not long after that and the one I was betrothed to was killed by Tristan. Tristan fought for me for his Uncles hand in marriage. He did not know that he would be giving me away though. Because I foolishly lied to him about my name. I was forced to marry King Mark of Cornwall. Tristan and I tried to ignore the way we felt but the more and more we did the stronger the burning inside of us grew. We soon started our love affair once more and he was the sweetest man I had ever met. I loved him. Someone soon found out about our affair and told King Mark of Cornwall. The alliance between him and Ireland was quickly destroyed. I told King Mark of how Tristan and I had met and how he had my heart. He gave us the choice of leaving but Tristan put me on the boat instead and fought along side with his uncle. In this battle Tristan was killed and I was in his arms when he was. I loved him and always will. Our love did not destroy a kingdom. He learned about love and I learned how it really felt. Our story will hopefully never be forgotten. |
