Then, that one fateful day, after some relaxation, Positive Vibration, from Bob Marley, changed my life. A day hasn't gone by that I don't listen to Reggae. Burning Spear, Aswad, The Meditations, Big Youth, Black Uhuru, Don Carlos, Gregory Isaacs, Bunny Wailer, Peter Tosh, The Gladiators, Itals, Israel Vibration. Then of course DanceHall, yellow man, beenie man, Ninja man, Berres Hammond, Barington Levy, Bounty Killer. I am a drummer turned rhythm fiend, so, African, King Sunny Ade, Commander Cody, Fela Kuti, Babatunde Olatunji. Indian based, Zakir Hussain, Tabla Beat Science, Talvin Singh. Anything rhythm based, Kodo drums, Planet Drum, Salsa, Cuban Santeria based drumming, Brazillian drum corps. Old school R&B Al Green, Marvin Gaye, James Brown, Aretha. I have a feeling I could go on forever....Audioslave, Groove Armada, Gangstarr, Digable Planets, Phish, Allman Bros, Tribe called Quest, Beasties, Sound Garden, Rage, DJ Disk, Greyboy Allstars, Martin Medeski and Wood. Uh, you get the idea, just love music, and drumming, any drumming. |
