DFW NORML: supports the repeal of cannabis prohibition for the following uses: RECREATIONAL: Approximately 80 million Americans have smoked marijuana sometime in their life. Most are good citizens who work hard, raise families and contribute to their communities. Maybe you are one of them. If you are, the law says you are a criminal. Millions of Americans choose marijuana over alcohol, as a safer recreational choice. MEDICAL: Marijuana for medical use is prohibited in most states. Doctors cannot prescribe marijuana to cancer and AIDS patients, for example, who could benefit from it's use. We seek to protect the Doctor / Patient Relationship. INDUSTRIAL: Over 30 countries harvest hemp, a non-psychoactive strain of cannabis and enjoy the financial rewards of this very profitable, versatile, eco-friendly, natural and renewable resource. However, American farmers aren't allowed to grow it, which means we export millions of dollars to other countries to recieve processed hemp products, which are perfectly legal. All of this is unconscionable.
