About Me |
|
| Hi... I'm Scott I'm a Drummer,Producer,Programmer,Hired Gun, Social Butterfly Raconteur,Air Hockey and Mini Golf Champ. These days I'm teaching, gigging and doing commercial and soundtrack work. I don't have a "personal" page so this page kind of does both. 10 random things nobody will read because I don't ever read these: 1. I'm a pocket player first. 2. I never learned to play double bass drums. Probably never will. 3. My middle name is Huyler (HI-LER). Not sure why. 4. I'm a kickass backup singer. 5. My man crush is Usher. 6. I know everything about the Beatles and The Battle of the Bulge. 7. I play bass, keys and guitar passably. 8. I drank out of the Stanley Cup 9. My best friend and I call each other "dummy" 10. I love teaching kids and seeing them progress |

My Interests |

Music:Member Since: 1/23/2006Band Website: You're looking at it.... Band Members: I've been lucky to play with some really prolific musicians during the course of my career. And also, I've tried to take something from every one of them and hopefully have left something behind. Here's a video of me working at home. Opie Gone Bad at Red Rocks. Part 2 Making an album... A single kick demo. Influences: Comedy albums. Musically, it's the Beatles first. The Police second. I put Prince on a pedestal reserved for saints. And then Mike Patton on the same pedestal to the left.... And of course my brother Denny. He always checked and still checks my ego. He also told me what kind of music to learn as a kid. Drummers? Stewart Copeland, David Garabaldi, John Bonham and some other dudes. I really dig the newer RnB drummers like Bryan Frasier Moore, Aaron Spears, Chris Dave,Calvin Rodgers,John Blackwell and Stokely. Comedy albums were really influential in a weird way. Steve Martin, Richard Pryor, George Carlin and Eddie Murphy. Brian May from Queen is my favorite guitar player. I'm a bass player fanatic. I've played with some seriously amazing female musicians in my life who taught me how to be musically aggressive and delicate at the same time. John Coltrane and Bill Evans take me to good places. Gershwin was a freak. Windall Armour, Randy Chavez and Jake Schroeder. They are my brothers, band-mates and mentors. I grew up playing with my brother Jeff Schoonover. John Common, my brother and musical equal. I've talked about music with my friends for sometimes 8 hours straight... ....and have come to the conclusion that I know everything and nothing about it. Sounds Like: Charles Bukowski dressing you down for being a soulless *%@ sellout. Record Label: Do it your own damn self. Type of Label: Indie |
