| DaPuntoBeat is a Mexico City based six piece band with eight years of history under their belt. Easy to digest but hard to forget.
DPB is a high potency and explosive live act that combines rock, funk and electronic elements to unleash passions on the dance floor! In 2006 DBP recorded a full length album entitled "Velodrom", which was released under their own label Sonido Chivaltraco, and distributed by Musart in Mexico and iTunes and eMusic internationally. Velodrom was also released in Spain by Actua Music in 2008. DPB also produced an album of remixes entitled Mexican 60s All Starts, in which they re-worked classic 1960s tracks by Angélica MarÃa, Alberto Vazquez and Manolo Muñoz. DPB has participated in a number of international festivals such as Festival Internacional de Benicassim (FIB), Spain 2001—where they performed along projects such as Stereo MCs, Orbital, The Juan Mclean, and Fat Boy Slim, among others — and at the Manifest, Mexico City 2005. In 2008, DPB will join acts such as Death Cab for Cutie, La Casa Azul and Justice at the FIB, where they have been invited for a second time. The band will then travel to Sweden to participate in the Way Out West Festival in Gothenburg and then to New York for the Mexico Now Festival. ***** Dapuntobeat es un proyecto que nació en 1998 en el corazón de la JardÃn Balbuena (df), y desde entonces no deja de incendiar las pistas de baile en las que se presentan. Sus directos son contundentes, efusivos y devastadores. Han compartido cartel con bandas de la talla de Stereo Mc..s,The Freestylers, Bentley Rythym Ace, The avalanches, Orbital, The juan mclean, Fat Boy Slim, entre otros. Se han presentado en foros como el Festival Internacional de Benicassim, España en 2001(www.fiberfib.com), Han editado varios ep..s y algunos de sus temas han aparecido en recopilaciones como El que la hace la grita. En 2005 participaron en varios festivales como el Manifest y la Fète de la Musique en la casa Francia. En su faceta como productores han realizado proyectos como el 60..s mexican stars remixed, un album con remixes de temas clasicos de los sesentas en voces de Angélica MarÃa, Alberto Vazquez, Manolo Muñoz, ademas de haber realizado remixes para artistas como Placebo, Beastie Boys entre muchos otros. En el 2006 participaron en el soundtrack de la pelÃcula 1973, ganadora del premio JVC en el festival internacional de cine de Guadalajara. Ahora llega "Velodrom", el álbum recién editado de Dapuntobeat por Sonido Chivaltraco, su propio Label, y distribuido por Musart en MÉXICO, Próximo a ser editado también en Europa Y US. En el 2007 realizaron diversas giras por todo el norte de la república mexicana y una gira que abarcó New York , España y Suecia . Este 2008 Dapuntobeat se prepara para realizar una extensa gira por el viejo continente y Estados Unidos, asà como concluir la producción de su siguiente álbum de estudio, para Finales del 2008. |
