Jesus Aaron - We Like Pretending Add to My Profile | More Videos CLICK HERE OR THE COVER ART BELOW FOR THE BEST PLACE TO BUY THE RECORD / WHETHER YOU LIKE IT DIGITAL OR WANT A HARDCOPY At 10:23 pm on September 21, 1977 in the city of Atlanta, Georgia, Jesus Aaron was born. As soon as he was old enough to travel (about 2) his parents took him to India, to places well known for their spiritual significance. While there, he was repeatedly and emphatically blessed by a renowned holy man in a manner quite uncommon and rarely, if ever, seen in that place. Two more trips followed thereafter, and the blessings continued. While this may have whispered of things to come, the rest of his childhood seemed fairly normal. He first began writing poetry and playing guitar around the turn of the millenium. Though he had no musical training to speak of, he picked it up naturally and was soon writing songs. And it was around that time, at open mics and early performances that people began to call him Jesus. At the university, students would sometimes gather around after class to ask him questions about life or the universe. If one speaks to him about spiritual topics it is very easy to understand why people call him Jesus. But of the iconic handle he says, "I know it sounds so big, but God is really in everything. All is my Father. I see the divine in everyone. People's awareness and level of consciousness affects how well it flows through them and manifests in the material world, but it is truly omnipresent; I make no apologies for knowing this; nor for employing one of God's names as my own. It is my own. This form is one the divine has provided for my use, and while beautiful to me, it is really not that important. It is only a vehicle; I exist beyond it. I do certain types of work through it. I also play through it. But it is not me. The name Jesus Aaron is only a handle which befits this form. Nothing more." His music is already being compared to the likes of Bob Dylan, though some would say it's more a neo-dylan type of style. Or say if Dylan had grown up listening to Nirvana and spending long amounts of time in meditation. His debut Enhanced EP is the result of work in five studios, including the famous Tree Sound Studios of Atlanta and Rodney Mills Masterhouse; many talented people have been involved in this project, which includes his epic 11min. 20sec. song “Kin of Nietzsche”. Many say this is a song the likes of which we haven't seen since the late 60's. Also featured is the soon to be hit 2nd track “Couture du Jour”. A music video of the CD’s third track entitled “We Like Pretending” is included on the record, and shares space with his rewritten version of the classic “Man of Constant Sorrow” and his political folk rock song entitled “America Wake Up.” But this EP is just the tip of the iceberg. He says five to six more EPs (3 full length albums) are ready to be layed down in the studio and will be released over the next 5 years. At present Jesus Aaron is busily based out of Atlanta, Georgia... but radio stations across the country and all around the internet are beginning to add his songs, and he's begun touring; he will be going everywhere, all over the US and abroad. There is much to come in the story of Jesus Aaron. Look for very big things indeed from him. The EP is now avaialble both in mp3 format and with the hot liner notes and such on the Jesus Aaron Website |
