| Il progetto Il Circo dOmbre nasce nellottobre 2004 dalla collaborazione tra il giornalista Paolo Mei, già voce dei Matildamay, Lorenzo Urciullo, chitarrista degli Iuca Buona, e Phoeb, reduce da una lunga permanenza a Bologna (dove ha collaborato e preso parte a progetti come Technogod, Y:dk, Moltheni e Massimo Volume) . Al trio si aggiunge la collaborazione, in alcuni brani, di Peppe Sindona, anchesso dai Matildamay, nonché ex bassista di Cesare Basile e Mario Venuti. Dopo la realizzazione dei primi brani, pochi mesi dopo, il progetto rallenta la sua attività. Periodo durante il quale Paolo Mei si dedica ai suoi dj set, accompagnando peraltro artisti come Sondre Lerche, Roy Paci e numerosi altri, al progetto live/dj set Hauntend Dance Hall, che lo vede dietro la consolle insieme a Mauro Ermanno Giovanardi dei La Crus, ed alla sua band, i Matildamay, con cui apre la tappa siciliana degli Afterhours. Attività parallele anche per Lorenzo Urciullo, con i suoi dj set e la sua band, con cui fa da supporto a band come Yuppie Flu. Il loro repertorio, sebbene composto da provini più che di realizzazioni definitive, comprende brani con andamenti downtempo, dalle atmosfere quiete e dolci, e brani più spinti, che giungono fino a sonorità vicine allelectroclash, come accade nella versione da loro ripresa di Io sto bene dei CCCP.
