About Me |
|
| subjects ofthecity subjects ofthecity The name is the band; the music is the name. Our lives are borne out by the city in whichwe struggle. Architecture frames our waking lives; blank or beautiful, no matter what you see or whereyou are, it is only stone. The city is a rhythm, a beat, knocking on our consciousness, sodeep and ingrained yet we barely notice or understand. Our philosophy is simple: to progress as humans and as artists. Turbulent with articulationwe cram our lives and hopes into every second of our sonic creations. We areSubjects of the City; raw, powerful, melodious, dynamic guitar pop. Our music is only our attempt at understanding our place; an idea mooted to make sense ofwhat we feel and see. The city can be a conduit, a lover, an enemy or merely indifferent. When I consider us, I see dark streets, lonely places, with few people huddled hither andthither. The buildings hold our gaze down; beauty indeed is above us. Fuelled by theinconsistencies of humanity and the lack of honesty and expression in today’s music, we arelooking for a chance to invite all into our own world. The stage is a catalyst, the rawscream from the depths of the city. So we write and we perform and will continue to do so until we are either dead or infirm. Wedon’t want to be rock stars, we need not be famous; we need only be heard. 'catchy indie-pop-rock, intense and intelligent yet accessible, (Subjects of the City) create an unparalleled dark and brooding atmosphere with a sharp contemporary edge…a great sound with some real depth… on the night it made for one of the finest set’s worth of material from any of the bands’Stephen Hudyba BBC Birth Is A Long Time by Subjects Of The City |
