About Me |
|
| Ruarri Joseph - How To Pack A Sleeping Bag For Glastonbury .. 'Tales Of Grime And Grit' I sing and write songs (hmmm...sounds like a singer songwriter to me!). Having played in a heap of different bands (Jazz, Rock, Cabaret, Punk) I settled on being a soloist due to the fact that it was dead easy to organise rehearsals.I played around for about a year then as if by magic got spotted and signed by the mighty Atlantic Records. I then had a year of playing with everyone from Paolo Nutini and David Gray to Funeral for A Friend and Cake and put a record out called "Tales of Grime and Grit". After a year of that, the major label thing didn't feel like the right road for me the time. No regrets having done it though as I've made some genuine friends and learnt enough to be able to try and stand on my own two feet for the time being.I figure that I still love music and want to write and play, but I want to do it on my terms and if that means less money, then so be it. So I've left Atlantic and decided to have a go at it all myself with some of the new contacts I've met over the year. I'm aslo a realist and want to make a career out of music...but not by kissing peoples arses! So the struggle begins again but this time with more determination and a grounding that means if I fail, atleast I can hang on to my dignity!A CAMEL IS A HORSE DESIGNED BY COMITTEE!
