| I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V4.4 (www.strikefile.com/myspace) Hello. I am Dani O, poet/ spoken word artist/ writer. If you know me, you probably know that already and know that Orlando is my adopted home and has been good to me. During my time here I’ve helped run an open mic, done a radio show of all Florida music, won countless poetry slams, started my own poetry slam, been a team member of two slams, and taken 2 more to nationals as the coach, and though I’ve retired as slammistress of the Say Anything Slam, I’ve continued to perform around town and maybe someday I’ll even get that spoken word album done. If you want to get involved in any artistic endeavor here then I am a good person to know and can, at the very least, point you in the right direction and cheer you on. You want to meet some of the most talented poets in the area? I’ll introduce you, but be prepared to share your stuff in the tag later. You need someone to go that Elvis impersonator convention, Fringe show, drag contest, puppet film festival, naked-themed art show, or any of that kind of stuff, just say the word. If you want to buy me beers I’ve never heard of in dive bars or coffee houses, and discuss philosophy, cartoons, or the current state of the world (or all of the above in the very same conversation) then I’ll put you on the calendar on my PDA phone. I’ve had a lot of people ask when I’m going to be performing again, and I can’t really say for sure, but I promise to start posting any dates on here well in advance. But if you are really lucky, you might just find me at the occasional poetry open mic. |
