without pretense
or polish.
Her work is pure,
and real
and totally original!Artist is the word,
(as opposed to musician,)
for several reasons.
The term Artist includes musician,
but also speaks of a greater connection to the source of inspiration.
Her connection includes more doors and windows opening up to inspiration,
because her approach as a songwriter is informed by her varied and quite brilliant skills
as a visual Artist.This is the magic of Vache Fou.
An accomplished visual Artist decides one day to make Music.This exciting exploration is Original(and may contain a hint of some sort of niave but calm self-consciousness)
while simultaneously it shows a mature visionary hand.I hope that she does not hate this biography that I am writing for her.
She is way too modest and might think that this is boastful.
But this is how I really feel,
and I feel that no exaggeration is necessary!For many years I have known her,
and have been proud and happy to be her friend.In an Art show that we were in together many years ago
she was making these Boxes
that would hang on the wall
something of a cross between painting and sculpture and collage and yet also
just a thing of itself...
hard to describe really with mere words,
but this gives a picture of an artform that goes beyond typical categories.That is how I am taken by her Music.Her music is delicate like a precarious invention,
and beautiful like a tiny little flower bathed in light.It is fresh and Now,
and it is expressed with a simple honesty
