About Me |

June 21, 2008 “Back to the Future” Ever wished you could revisit your high school prom…and do it better this time? Prom: the Sequel is your chance. For adults only, this prom will have all of the trimmings we remember, plus a few more you might not expect. Meant to inspire the spirit of proms past, the theme “Back to the Future” will highlight prom experiences from the ages, no matter what era you attended high school. Enjoy light hors d'oeuvres and adult beverages, dancing, and a silent auction, all with a liberal helping of sweet nostalgia. Formal dress is encouraged, but wear what you'd like. Everyone is welcome (singles too!), orientation is irrelevant, but this time you can bring who you really want. Proceeds from this event will go to support the 2009 Birmingham SHOUT Gay+Lesbian Film Festival. Want to make this prom extra special? Prom King & Queen H.A.G. of the year Tickets Tickets are $75 for couples tickets ($65 for members) and $40 for singles tickets ($35 for members). They can be purchased online by clicking here or from the SHOUT office located at 2312 First Ave N, Birmingham, AL 35203. The Alabama Moving Image Association, best known for the nationally recognized Sidewalk Moving Picture Festival, is proud to present the third annual Birmingham SHOUT Gay + Lesbian Film Festival. Since its creation, this festival has recognized the growing gay and lesbian communities in the Magic City as well as the increasing demand for alternative/independent films in our area. The festival showcases narrative films, documentaries and shorts by new and established artists, and offers filmgoers the rare opportunity to connect to topics of interest to the LGBT communities, as well as to interact with attending filmmakers. "I was honored to be a part of Birmingham SHOUT. Birmingham is lucky to have such a vibrant and exciting festival." - Alan Cumming |

My Interests |
|
| The Alabama Moving Image Association is proud to present the third annual Birmingham SHOUT Gay + Lesbian Film Festival. While this year’s festival will be condensed to one day only (March 29), the festival line-up will showcase the very best in LGBT independent cinema. We intend to return to the three day format in 2008, but we need the support of the community in order to do so. Any contribution helps us to showcase these artistic voices to our community, as well as help increase the visibility of our community and to provide Birmingham with a progressive festival of which few Deep South cities can boast. | |
