My Interests

Causing epilleptic seizures for web surfers. Building a sound system that will make you shit your pants. Masturbating to new technology and music-gear catalogs. Sand between my toes with a clear view of the Milky Way. Brooklyn Lager. Finding out that there is more to this universe than just this rock we call home, on a spiritual level, not a search-for-extraterrestrial-life level. This universe is too complex to think it just appeared one day without some sort of divine intervention. Environmental, Aesthetic, Biomedical /genetic and Human ethics.

I'd like to meet:

Friends, old and new. TEP brothers, old and new

My woman gives me everything I could have ever hoped for.

Music:

Jungle/Drum and Bass by profession, but I love real Hip Hop, Classic Jazz, Hardcore Rock'n'Roll, House, Breaks, Roots Reggae, Dub, Dancehall, Funk, Soul, and the list goes on and on...

Movies:

Life and Debt - the story of Jamaica's economic plight and how the world bank (IMF) has totally screwed the country beyond belief. If you've ever wondered why there are riots everytime the IMF comes to town, you'll understand after seeing this flick.

I love me some entertainment more than the heavy non-fiction though. :) There's so many I can't begin to name 'em.

Television:

Television is the devil, a vast wasteland of brainwashing commercialism. Comedy Central and the Discovery Channels are quite possibly the only redeeming factors. I love a lot of my old-skool shows that I watched growing up: A-Team, V, Knight Rider, etc... Watching them now makes me piss in my pants considering how awesome they were to me at that age.

Books:

Only two books really stand out in my mind:

Neuromancer, written by William Gibson - This book was written in 1984 and is perhaps the most accurate portrayal of human life in the coming decades and century. Those shitty Matrix movies were based on it and completely misconstrued it. If you really want to know what's in store for humanity, then read this book. Don't let Hollywood feed you some sugar-coated, 360-degree camera angle, poor CGI induced bullshit about machines making us into batteries. We'd kill ourselves off before we advanced far enough to where machine were capable of enslaving us in a literal sense.

The Rainbow People of God, written by Bishop Desmond Tutu - Outlines the history of South Africa from the mid-20th century up to the release of Nelson Mandela from captivity through the eyes of the great Desmond Tutu. I'm not a bible-beater, but this man in a walking saint. I don't think there's any other human being that I respect more. The man is single-handedly responsible for keeping South Africa from tearing itself apart from civil war and averted certain slaughter through several sessions of "reconciliation" between native South Africans and the ousted Dutch regime. The world would be a much better place if people followed his example of tolerance and forgiveness.

Oh, and one essay

The Land Ethic, written by Aldo Leoplod - My man was a major player in the foundation of the modern environmentalist movement. He brought forth the concept that land use cannot be valued based solely on economic principles, but on principle that by treating the land and it inhabitants as a community (through mutual repect), we realize how truely priceless it is to our survival.
"Quit thinking about decent land-use as solely an economic problem. Examine each question in terms of what is ethically and aesthetically right, as well as what is economically expedient. A thing is right when it tends to preserve the integrity, stability, and beauty of the biotic community. It is wrong when it tends otherwise."

That's the philosopher in me. ;)

Heroes:

are people who do extraordinary things, but not by simply serving your country, the community, or throwing a football.
