About Me

Firstly here are some nice things people are starting to say about me and my music...

"You Boys were excellent" said Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood after watching us play at the Purple Turtle.

"Go, listen to this now and find out just how impossible Stephen Jowett is to shake off. Magnificent." Raggedwords.com

"the music of Mr. Stephen Jowett might just blow your tiny little mind right off the map."
Dean Sharp - (North London & Herts Newspaper Group)
(Go to my blog for the full feature)

"The very first thing you’ll notice when listening to Stephen Jowett is his voice. One of marvelous distinction, comparisons with Morrissey, Anthony Hegarty and Stuart A. Staples are obvious, Stephen can warble with the very best." Cross The Pond Music

"Definitely one to watch out for" The Daily Growl

About Him...

With a voice that has been compared to Antony Hegarty's and songs that are known to genre bend their way into a unique term 'Electronicana' Enfield born Steve Jowett has taken the traditional musical genres of Folk, Americana and Country by the scruff of the neck, given them a good ol’ shake and created something that is both timeless and innovative. All the songs you hear are written, performed and produced by Sj in a dark dark room in his house.

Live Steve is often joined by Ed 'Leo' Weston with his snariest of snare drums, Mark Rendell the banjo/blues harp king of the world, Bassman John Massey and have included appearances with former Mercury Prize nominee Lou Rhodes, Cherry Ghost and Barbarossa, to name but a few. Between Ed, Mark and Steve's swift shuffling feet something magical happens that has started to wow audiences all over London and the South East.
