Beginning on August 4th, they’ll play late night from 11 – 2 a.m.Nightbirds have graced the Deli’s pages before; I’ve written about their ghostly vocals and ambient roll. They’ve truly got a unique sound that will draw a large crowd seemingly out of the woodworks. Months on the road could have only matured their sound and made them tighter. They’ve been promoting their new album “November Moon,” which was just released this May – an EP come full-length.The above picture may seem incriminating, (hey, you don't want people to see it, don't put it on MySpace) but I decided it was appropriate - Nightbirds have an acoustic background - their melodies ramble along like a poem, but to me, this accentuates their a punk rock undertone. It’s like a rawness they’ve hog-tied.So if you don’t think I’ve gotten it quite right, just check them out for yourself next Monday. Or the one after that, or after that… -The Deli Magazine PRESS RELEASES: The Nightbirds are poetic. Clear and concise while projecting from a sound that fits gently alongside the likes of legends such as Neil Young, early Bob Dylan, and Jeff Buckley, like it or not, it’s true. Except that the band does not strive for these lofty aspirations. The Nightbirds are effortlessly themselves, and while one may attempt to classify them, it is as though these comparisons set out only to draw people to them, helping them to be heard, because really, they should be heard. -Taylor Bratches, Northeast Performer Magazine Nightbirds ghostly vocals and guitar riffs from the depths totally encompass any room they enter. The rapid electric and acoustic riffs with almost ghostly lead vocals give the music a sexy, dusky feel. But the Burlington outfit Nightbirds are nonetheless coming to town for a two night stand (Fri 6/20-Sat 6/21.) They’ll be reaching ears outside of their hometown in January with a tour of the East Coast and the Midwest.
