| I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4 Tye’s love of drums began at an early age in Jemez, New Mexico. Playing since he was 12 years old, he joined his fathers’ jazz band and performed at local clubs and venues. Throughout his teenage years, he played snare in his high school marching band and went on to perform with the Tournament of Roses Honor Band. After high school, he toured Rome and Italy performing with a jazz big band and a classical symphonic band. Having acquired much knowledge and experience of the drumline genre, he then went on to conceive, develop and teach an entire drumline curriculum for the St. Francis High School in La Canada, while also teaching privately on the side.Never passing up a chance to keep busy, Tye emerged as a finalist from the Guitar Center’s drum-off competition, and joined several local groups in the area. Playing clubs like the Whiskey and the Temple Bar throughout Southern California, he held down the groove for all types of bands. Showcasing and recording with Epic recording artist Juliet Simms, live and studio drumming for R&B/funk band Jim’s Fault, up and coming southern rocker Candace Devine, Glen Brenker’s 100 piece guitar band and many other talents, he still found time to practice.His blues band, Blonde Lemon Jefferson, has opened up for War, and received radio airplay in Nashville. He is also no stranger to charity, as he toured throughout Louisiana, bringing music and goodwill to the victims of Katrina. Pushing his musical versatility even further, Tye performed and recorded drums and percussion for the Spanish guitar band "Élan Vital" on their upcoming debut album. He has become in demand as a percussionist for several singer/songwriters and acoustic projects.
