Bubblegum lyrics, and equally chewy dance routines were no obstacle to the success of the original and in this 2007 reworking Mickey Morphingaz rebrands himself as the archetypal 21st century cheerleader, leading from the decks, and sending out the call we know and love so well... Hey Mickey you're so fine, you're so fine you blow my mind... EMU When questioned about Emus, Morphingaz replied, "Pretty scary when they're runnin' straight at ya! I used to feed them at the zoo and they would try and eat your whole arm. Let alone your little morphys!" The Emu has a prominent place in Australian Aboriginal mythology, including a creation myth of the Yuwaalaraay and other groups in NSW who say that the sun was made by throwing an Emu's egg into the sky. The bird features in numerous aetiological stories told across a number of Aboriginal groups. The Kurdaitcha man of Central Australia is said to wear sandals made of emu feathers to mask his footprints.A child's memory of an emu provides the inspiration for this track, the perspective, the wonder, the sounds and the smells, the colours, the textures, the fears, the fun, the absolute joy. PLATTERPUSSY The unique features of the Platypus make it an important subject in the study of evolutionary biology and a recognizable and iconic symbol of Australia; it has appeared as a mascot at national events and is featured on the reverse of the Australian 20-cent coin. Platypuses have been heard to emit a low growl when disturbed.This platterpussy is an altogether more playful thing, not so much growling, as whistling a happy tune.
