| THE NIGHT The Night is a 5 piece metal band hailing from San Antonio, TX. Comprised of former members of punk and metal bands in that area, The Night brings a new view of old metal to the table! The concept originally began in 2003 by lead guitarist Eiriksson von Hellscream after he resigned from his former band. At first, The Night was meant to be a horror rock band, but this project never made it off the ground due to his constant seeking of bandmates and setting it aside to join a local punk rock band called “Out Of Order” in 2005. This is where he met Betophe the Destroyer, and Jacobus Runeblade. While this band had played many shows with over a dozen great punk acts from around the world, their music began to evolve with elements of “old school” heavy metal. In May of 2007 their drummer had left and the band had played their last show under the Out Of Order banner. Hellscream kept in touch with Runeblade and Destroyer and continued to make music with the two while Runeblade had been part of another local metal band, “A Killers Casket”. A Killers Casket, although short lived was where Runeblade had met up with future members of The Night, Rothgar Ragefist and drummer, Davith Hammerfall. When the two had joined in late 2007, The Night was finally born! Coming from a city so dedicated to the “Old School” heavy metal bands naturally the influence of The Night is from bands such as Iron Maiden, Helloween, Metallica, Ratt, King Diamond, Ronnie James Dio, and Judas Priest. Aside from the “old school” influence they also put in a mix of the new not too shy of bands the likes of All That Remains, Kamelot, Children of Bodom, Cellador, and Vancouver’s own 3 Inches of Blood! The Night played a few shows in early 2008 until Davith Hammerfall decided that he needed to part ways with the band to pursue his academic career. Since beginning in late 2007 the band is currently working on their debut album for 2008 as well as their first tour that will take place in the summer in their home state of Texas! The Night has arrived so Cower and Hide you fools! The Night, the exiled brotherhood of Valhalla, is bringing traditional metal back from the depths of hell. The forsaken brothers formed a blood pact with Cromm himself to cleanse this world of the enemies of metal and establish a new order of brutality.
