I'm more complex than one might expect. I may not say much, but I don't miss much either; fiercely loyal and caring; generous of heart and forgiving; curious and awe struck by the spiritual and the scientific, the explained and unexplained; filled with wonder daily. Dreams: Trek the Serengeti and climb Mt. Kilamanjaro; White Water rafting in Costa Rica;. Snow boarding in Patagonia; Horseback riding in the mountains of Australia. Passions: Photography; Music; Film; Life Several people have asked the origins of my tag/profile name. Someone even asked if that was my band's name. No, I don't have a band, I only adopt them, but if I did, we would kick serious a$$! LOL. The name comes from the angel statuary at Bethesda Fountain in Central Park, NYC. She's supposed to be the most filmed angel statue in the world (Godspell, Ransom, Angels in America, et al). My first foray into NYC a couple years ago, I went looking for her. It was a crisp, cold, clear, blue skied day in winter during which the fountain is drained. Climbing into the empty pool to take some pictures, a couple of things happened. I circled the statue, raised my camera and as if struck by a lightning bolt, I found a passion for the vision of photography and healing in my life at a time when a dark chasm had opened and devoured so many things. So the angel photo and the tag name are reminders that I love this big, beautiful noisy world; that I'm fascinated by everyone and everything and look at life under a microscope because I don't want to miss a thing. There's too much life to live to stand still very long. Be sure, my friends, to embrace it. |

He is best known for his acting and has appeared in The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Hidalgo, A Perfect Murder, A History of Violence, A Walk on the Moon as well as participated in numerous other productions. He is also an amazing humanitarian, conservationist, political activist, photographer, artist, singer, musician, composer, writer and publisher. Mr. Mortensen's Perceval Press prints many art, photography and poetry books that might otherwise never be seen.
