| I am a songwriter who has written thousands of songs. I'm originally from Borger, Texas. I met Roy Orbison in Nashville, Tennessee back in the '60s and ended up joining his band, The Candymen, touring the world and co-writing more than 70 songs with Roy, including his No. 1 Billboard smash hit "Oh, Pretty Woman," and the top ten hit "It's Over."I have been fortunate enough to have my songs recorded by the likes of Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn and The Germs. In 1965, I appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show with Roy and the Candymen. That performance wound up on the recently-released (2003) DVD, "Rock 'N' Roll Forever: Ed Sullivan Show's Greatest Hits."The movie Pretty Woman starring Julia Roberts and Richard Gere refers to me as William Dees in the credits, but most people call me Bill. I live in the beautiful Ozark Mountains. I love to cook, write songs, sing into my tape recorder, be with my friends and family, and of course, enjoy Heaven on Earth.
