About Me

On July 21st 2007 the first Woodenbox album was released at the liquid ship Glasgow. It was packed and we delighted in playing the album live. Later on down the year I got in touch with Nick Dudman and asked him to come and play some live shows. 2 rehearsals later we showcased the new sound at Box on sauchiehall street and so Woodenbox with a Fist Full of fivers was born. Since the first gig Ali and Nick have been working new songs. They have supported some great bands like Peggy sue and the pirates, Son of Dave and Broken Records, achieved airplay on Radio 2, Radio1 and BBC Scotland and have had only glowing reviews. Later down the line in steps old school Sam Evans whoplayed sax on the woodenbox album. Sam appears at the bigger live shows to give sax flavour to the thirsty crowd. The newest addition to the band is Fraser McKirdy who stepped up to play bass with us at bigger shows. Now the band is pushin forward to see where the wind will blow us next...................................................look out
