About Me

I like to write with sharpies. I am shrewd and ditzy. Awkwardness is my greatest charm. I'm great with written words and animals. I'm getting better at cooking and handicrafts. I'm terrible with men and money. I hold a degree in Creative Writing and Political Science but I am not a waitress. Horses make me nervous. I write poetry at five am. My Kinsey number is 2.7. I have a boycat and a girl dog. Both are redheads. I like to drink gin. You can never make me love you. There is a family of sparrows living on my balcony. My kitchen is messier than anyone's I know. I live in the desert because I'm too damn tidal. Only my family thinks I'm funny. Nothing enrages me more than a missed opportunity. I have a close, personal relationship with my red pen. I have a lot of bravado but I'm actually pretty fragile. I know you better than you think I do.

My Interests

I like to do lots of things, mostly things that involve sitting inside. And sometimes talking. Or sometimes listening--including listening with my eyes, which some people call reading. Or with my ears, which is just called plain old listening. I also like to hang out with my friends. And animals, because they're kinder and more honest than regular people.

I'd like to meet:

Lovers and fighters. Readers. Porch sitters. Music snobs and theory whores. People for whom integrity is a MO. Cat lovers. Afternoon nappers. News junkies. Armchair revolutionaries. Funny, friendly types.

Movies:

The Royal Tenenbaums, Casino, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Goodfellas, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, The Neverending Story, Cleopatra, Raise the Red Lantern, Ju-on, Roman Holiday, Amores Perros, The Last Unicorn, Elizabeth, Sleeping Beauty, Spellbound, Farewell My Concubine, Gone with the Wind, Amelie, Maria Full of Grace, Dogville, the Princess Bride, The Godfather, Empire Records, Pride and Prejudice, Labyrinth, Lost in La Mancha, etc

Television:

Sex and the City. Law and Order. Six Feet Under. CNN. Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Wonderfalls. The Office. Sealab 2021. Fresh Prince of Bel Air. Arrested Development. Frontline.

Books:

So many. So, so many.

Heroes:

I looked all over town.

These Fragments I Have Shored Against My Ruins.

We might expect if the death is sudden to feel shock. We do not expect this shock to be obliterative, dislocating both body and mind. We might expect that we will be prostrate, inconsolable, crazy wit...
