After being a part of the music scene for over 3 decades Alan Fayer left the Grafton area blues band Tribal and joined with drummer Larry Verhovec of Word of Mouth. The guitar player and drummer were hoping to start a new and sound changing project A NEW BREED OF ROCK. After months of searching for the right bass player they finally came across the eclectic and energetic Rob-O from Psycho Therapy. This began the shaping of one of the best new rock bands in Cleveland, Ohio. There was only one thing left to do and that was to find a vocalist. Out of no where came Jason Hilliard; with his mind blowing lyrics and echoes of grunge Gods such as Vedder, Cornell and Staley, this fresh new singer was the perfect fit for the new breed of rock.Now completed the project became known as 30 SECONDS OUT (3SO). In the winter of 05, after playing the local scene for several months, the band went into the studio to record their first self titled EP. Their first single hit air waves in January of 2006 on the Cleveland Rock Station 100.7 WMMS. Release which coincidentally was their first release was a huge success for this local Cleveland band. Shortly after, the single was picked up by yet another Cleveland station, 92.3 X (now known as K-ROCK) and several college stations.Once the EP was done the band went back to doing what they do best, writing some new and amazing songs to entertain us with. In the process they ran into Alex Fischer, an upbeat and charismatic drummer formerly of Cardona. With Larry moving on to other projects this was the perfect opportunity for the guys to try out this new drummer, and what a success it was!3SO will be adorning their fans with many great shows in the upcoming months and they are going back into the studio to rerecord some old songs and to give us a taste of the new enchanting art that is called rock.
