The band combines influences from the mid-90s black/death scene with a personal conception of music and a modern touch. Smohalla recorded a first demo entitled 'Smolensk Combustion', released in november 2006. With Smohalla, the Father of the Dreamers, as an emblem, the band creates a personal world in which fantastic landscapes materialize beyond our imagination, thus opening a gate between oniric infinity and the cold reality. 'Nova Persei' is a concept mini-cd based upon 'Beyond the Wall of Sleep' by H.P Lovecraft, out in October 2007 on God is Myth records. This work is composed by 6 tracks of cosmic extreme metal, mixing black, doom, avantgarde, ambient and other experimentations. The band is now working on new projects (first LP to come on Vendlus records, split CD..) french Formé en 2006, Smohalla joue une musique perdue entre violence et ambiances planantes, explorant des sons et des ambiances tour à tour tourmentées ou lancinantes. Influencé par le black metal de groupes comme Solefald, Emperor, Ved Buens Ende, Abigor, Golden Dawn, le groupe incorpore aussi des élements post-rock, ambient, electro et ne se fixe donc aucune barrière stylistique. Guitares écorchées, structures complexes et chant tour à tour hurlé ou chanté sont les bases d’un style qui cherche à évoquer de nouvelles visions dans l'esprit des auditeurs. Après une première demo sortie en novembre 2006, le groupe sort "Nova Persei", mini-CD concept d'après "Par delà le Mur du Sommeil" d' H.P Lovecraft en octobre 2007, tout en travaillant sur de nouveaux projets comme un premier album à venir sur Vendlus Records l'année prochaine et des split CD.
