| ''Tha Duke was born on the rough streets of Saint Louis,Missouri,at a young age he had to learn how to be a man,are become another statistic to the ghetto.At the age of 12 he found his passion in rapping,he was light years ahead of his friends that would cypher wit him at school,in the neigborhood,and on the St.Louis hip hop scene.He had to become his own producer because he wasn't able to get beats from anyone,he quickly caught on to becoming an self-dependent person and rapper.6years later still blessed with youth,Tha Duke continues to put his foot in his emcees asses lyrically,hes like no other,he ghost writes,produces,rap,among various of other things.He's the new breed of lyricists,incorperating his high class lyrics with a hit making flow.''He's worked with numerous of local St.louis acts,doing such things as ghost writing,producing,are just laying a hot verse are chorus for them.He's caught the attention of local labels such as Meance Entertainment Ground Pro Productions.also budding Super Producer Jaywan for his witty word play,his lyricall skills,and his heart felt rhymes.He speaks his pain from what he's experienced in his life ever since a young age.Well aware of the struggle of his people his peers and his friends,duke readys himself too speak for the people who don't have the voice too speak for themselves.He's not at all like your average rapper,he was taught at a young by his parents to always be true to himself and the many of people that love him.He's dealt with the pain of the ghetto just like every other average black man are woman living in the U.S.A, from loosing his friends to the streets,drugs,the cops, and many of the other dangers that comes with being a young black male in the ghetto.Ever since the day he was born his parents knew that he was destined for greatness in whatever he sat his sights on.Whether it would be basketball,school,are hip hop,they knew he would excel and rise to the occasion.In 2005 duke realesed his first mixtape Tha Golden Child Vol.1,with hard grinding and the help of his closest friends he pushed over 5,000 units locally,selling his mixtapes where ever he could,whether it was school,the trunk of a car,are the parking lots of grocery stores.They worked hard kept confidence and suprised themselves with the sucsess of Tha Golden Child Vol.1''.Next duke had set his eyes on carrying over his local sucsess to the internet.An sure enough he did,in the short period of 3weeks he pushed over 2,000 units/downloads on www.illegalhiphop.com.Along with the sucsess of his mixtape on the internet Tha Duke is currently in heavy rotation on college radio and internet radio with such stations as,Jazze pha's new internet radio station Durdee south radio,anrnet.com radio station where duke's 3songs are currently in rotation,and they average over 100 plays a day,and these are just a few.Duke's Music can also be heard on 100.3the beat and 104.1 in St.Louis.Duke has also left his finger prints on the heavily popular mixtape game, apprearing in Mixtape's such as the highly popular mixtape series Dj Diggz&Dj Bgreezy Presents Big Cannons 3,4,,Dj Klerks HipHop Kills Vol.2,Dj Klerk Presents I Make Mixtapes 4 Ipods,and huge catalog of other very popular mixtape series.Tha Duke has added to his many young accomplishments by winning The 2nd Letsbeef.Com Battle Tournament(Featured In XXL Mag) in a row,In which the grand prize was 1,000 cash and a Exclusive beat from Grammy Award Winning Producer Rocwilder(Beyonce,Jay-Z,Eminem,Dr.Dre,Christina Aguilera),He was also supposed to battle Platinum Recording Artist LiL Flip(Warner Bro Records) but do too contractual agreements the much anticipated battle between Tha Duke and LiL Flip never took place..Duke has now teamed up with Entertainment Lawyer Extrodinaire Eric Kayira in pursue of a Major Label Deal.Now Tha Duke has set his sights on the major level of hip hop,armed with a huge and constantly growing set of fans,the passion of the late great 2pac shakur,and the versatility like never seen before in hiphop Tha Duke is sure to be one of the greatest of all time.'' | |
