Running On Empty: Combining inspiration from the likes of The Roots, Jaime T, Timberland, The Kinks and The Mitchell Brothers amongst others; Running On Empty’s sound is a mix of edgy funk, alternative hip-hop and classic rock music.Paul Kennett and David Allimadi, aka Running on Empty, met at University and found that their differing but complimentary styles of music have created a fresh new sound. Paul, who has a classical background in piano and guitar, brings a touch of class to the musical production of ROE while David’s passion for Hip Hop and the intensity of his imagination shines through his intelligent lyrics.Since their first appearance at Bar Retro in Aberystwyth, the boys have performed at a number of high profile venues including The Aberystwyth Student Union,The Fleece & Firkin and many large capacity bars and clubs throughout Aberystwyth, Bristol and London, including a residency slot at Storm in Leicester Square. ROE have also taken over the radio waves, featuring on and winning BBC’s 1Xtra and Radio One’s ‘Homegrown Cuts’ competition.Now both permanently residing in London they want to share their music with anyone who will listen, so watch out world and stop acting nervous!
