CALIFORNIA POET STEFFAN PIPER,"Here he is … thriving, growing like a fungus, amidst the dregs of humanity, feeding off the disorders. The son of a bitch that just wont leave the nut-house, even after they left the front door wide open.Cancer Face by Frank Reardon is an amazing work, beyond the pride, the drunkenness and the huge parade of women, well-past the authentic, horrific feelings of the ordinary postmodernist man of the 21st century. Reardon works overtime to leave you alienated, psychotic and continuously stripped of your own, his and everybody else’s humanity. The humorous part is that he’s doing this with his eyes closed and behind the wheel of an old Buick with cement block on the gas pedal. It’s always a one-way journey. You can never go home.Every poem is accessible, and pushes us to consider ourselves. Cancer Face is more than a stroll through Plastic-America and a some fat chick’s one-bedroom, one-bathroom apartment, but it goes into our own nightmare of America when we’re dirty and drunk with blood on our hands, … waking up early next to the dead fat girl.
