About Me |

| I am Mossadon, known to most earthlings as Mossey.
I'm a DJ/Promoter and I run www.electroempire.com which is dedicated to cataloging the early days of Raps more electrofunk roots, it's evolution into straight up ELECTRO and it's continued output and influence today.
I've been a DJ since 1984 and I've worked in many aspects of the music industry, from record shops to recording studios, record labels to club nights.
Through my DJing I've often strived to blur the lines between musical pigeon holes as my DJ heroes from the Bronx did as they played funk/soul next to euro electro pop and stompin rock tracks in the 70's...as the 'Rave' DJs did (including myself)in England in the late 80's early 90's..playing House next to pumped up party Rap tunes into Techno into psychedelic rock breaks etc.
I produced and promoted a number of legendary nights in ma hometown over the years. One was LESS STRESS, a long running Techno night held in a 16th century church that ran for 6 years and was rated in the national press as a "must for northern techno fans". second being JUNK SHOP, a 6 turntable/3 DJ's dancathon where anything went. Rap,Soul,Funk,House,Electro,Techno...we mashed it all up well before multiple DJ sessions and mash ups were all the rage!
Over the years I've had the pleasure of promoting and DJing with the likes of The Jungle Brothers, DJ Cash Money, Andrew Weatheral, Dave Clarke, 808 State, Space DJ'z, Cosmic Force, Breakestra, Iration Steppas, Mark Rae, Andy Votel, The Young Blood Brass Band, Geno Washington, Ugly Duckling and The Dub Pistols.
I play mostly Electro sets these days but still bust out the odd funk set or house session and still enjoy the occasional band support gig where I get to play a more eclectic set to suit the band in question. I edited my profile with Thomas’ Myspace Editor V3.6 ! |
