Brandon Crane has been performing professionally since the age of four, and is probably best remembered for his work as "Doug Porter" on THE WONDER YEARS, as well as guest-starring roles on numerous sit-coms and television movies, but it is music that has always been his favorite outlet. His interest in music was always apparent growing up, but it was his experiences in high school that opened up the world of plays, musical theater, opera and jazz, allowing him to broaden his performing horizons. Great singers like Mel Torme, Sammy Davis Jr., Vic Damone and Frank Sinatra were tremendous influences, however it was not until his relatively late exposure to the great Bobby Darin in whom he found an artist who's sound and eclectic style would most inspire him. Some of his theatrical highlights include: the west-coast premiere of JEKYLL & HYDE and THE SCARLET PIMPERNEL (Fullerton CLO), Vallon/Jim in SHOW BOAT (Musical Theatre West), a leather-clad beer drinking Pirate King in THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE (OC Pavilion) and Padre in MAN OF LA MANCHA (The Grove Theater and Redlands Civic Light Opera), for which he recently received the Founder's Award from the Inland Theatre League. Other credits include: Peron in EVITA, Charlie Brown in YOU'RE A GOOD MAN CHARLIE BROWN, Cousin Kevin in TOMMY, the Nightingale in ONCE UPON A MATTRESS (Saddleback CLO), Neil Tilden in 1940's RADIO HOUR (KENNEDY CENTER/ACTF Semi-finalist), Bobby Gould in BOBBY GOULD IN HELL, Rosenberg in AMADEUS, Lasky in the World premiere of THE CLAW MACHINE, and ensemble roles in CAMELOT and SWEENEY TODD. Most recently, he is putting together a cabaret act, and has been working with a very talented ensemble of actor/singers on a new musical concept recording of GREAT EXPECTATIONS , based on the Dickens classic, created by Richard Winzeler and Stephen Lane. |
