next show... Damage done by worms, welch ein netter Name, Insider meinen es könnte Wurmfraß heißen. Na wenn das nicht Appetit auf wirklich leckere Musik macht!! 1989 gründeten Marco, Heiko und Andrej diese nette Band um anständige Musik zu machen in Berlin Wartenberg. Geleitet vom damaligen Szeneclub "Future" wo man nur mit Flat und "Domestoshosen" wieder heil rauskam, prägte sich wohl der Musikstil der drei. Man lernte gepflegten Psychobilly zu spielen. 1990 kam dann mit Rico(für Andrej) ein neuer Bassist zur Band und eigentlich konnte er auch gar nicht spielen, so erlernte er während der Zeit bei DDBW das Kontrabass spielen. Der Kontrabass ein unbedingtes muss einer jeder Psychoband war von nun an immer dabei. Man hatte auch in den ersten Monaten keinen Namen für diese sagenhafte Band, so wurden sie einfach in den ersten Jahren die "wartenberger" in der Szene Berlins genannt. Der Name "Damage done by Worms" kam dann irgendwie zum entstehen und begleitete von nun an diese Band. Man hatte diverse Auftritte in Jugendclubs unter anderem mit einer Band (welchen Namen ich nicht weiß)wo Süni mitspielte der sympathische Ungar welcher jetzt Bassist(ohne Kontra) bei No Exit ist. Leider brachte es die Zeit mit sich das Rico(jetzt Frontman bei den Strings) die Band verlassen musste, dafür kam Maggie welcher richtig frischen Wind mit in die Band brachte, so dass sich Konzerte häuften und auch bald Studioarbeiten fürs erste Album begannen. DDBW spielte von nun an bei den großen nationalen Psychoevents mit anfänglich als Vorband für alle und später als Vorband für die Bands weswegen sie ihre musikalische Karriere begonnen haben. Es folgten weitere Alben und dadurch eine Manifestation in der internationalen Psychoszene(Psychomeeting Calella-Spanien u.a.), ja die "Wartenberger Jungens" haben den Sprung nach oben geschafft. Maggi verabschiedete sich nun von der Band um eigenen wegen nachzugehen so dass Mr. P-Man Maggies Position schnell und erfolgreich übernahm. Jedoch wollte Mr. P-Man seinen Traum erfüllen und übern großen Teich schwimmen was er anfang 2005 getan hat, so dass wieder ein neuer Basisst gesucht und mit Jay Smith wohl auch gefunden wurde. Somit kann nach einiger Einarbeitungszeit die Band wohl endlich wieder ihrem Hobby frönen und Live-Act´s bringen und...ja wir warten alle auf ein neues Album unserer Wartenberger Jungens!! Es bleibt zu hoffen das auch Marco(guitar,voc) sowie Heiko (drums,voc) weiterhin ordentlich zusammen arbeiten, ihren neuen mann gut aufnehmen ins Team, damit wir endlich wieder wrecken können... Heiko, on drums and also sings (ie: Lost in Thoughts)... Jay, an American from Utah & Las Vegas, who slaps the double bass, joined the band in 2005 Influences: Rock 'n' Roll like Berlin wants to hear... Sounds Like: Damage done by Worms - Behind the Coulisses The individuality of the band makes it difficult to describe their style of music lets just say its Rock 'n' Roll with the effects of Psychobilly, Surf, Rockabilly (not "Rock-A-Billy" for fuck's sakes!) and Punk. The bands debut album, a 10 LP "Evil Eyes" was released in 1995 by Crazy Love Records. In 1996 followed the LP "Fear Will Freeze You..." also on Crazy Love Records. Over the years they've experienced a lot on stage where they've a hand in fascinating the masses with their great show on stage. The band has shared the stage with famous Rock'n'Roll bands around Europe from Calella, Spain to Lahti, Finland. In 1999 the band presented the "Suicide City" EP by the Japanese label On the Hill Records. Their latest release "Tonight?!" which was co-produced by both Haryboobooana Records and Streetmusic Berlin is still a top seller in Europe and around the world. Over the years, Marco & Co. have grown up and the evolution of the music's sound and technique has gotten more brilliant & exciting. The lyrics are spiked with their experiences made though the years a melancholy and rough sound, indeed. Damage Done by Worms - a band which has never forgotten its mission...
