| Who is Honcho, Aka( Tate,Bo,Rob) Raised in Mt. Vernon, NY grew up in Wilson, NC and became a man in Raleigh, NC. With time your path becomes clear and that's an under-statement. My evolution musically has been inspired by family history and the blessing of being around creative people. A late 70's baby Hip Hop was so taboo and raw. I remember recording the sat. night WBLS shows and trying to beat box tha tunes. I got my 1st boom box and it was over,around tha same time Transformers the movie came out. You couldn't tell me shit. Fast forward and now my neighborhood is hot. Heavy D and the boys, EddieF, Pete Rock, Al B. Sure, Entouch gave me(us) a sense of pride for Money Earn'in Mt.Vernon. Unfortunatly tha drug epedemic in NY forced my family to relocate toWide Awake(Wilson, NC) for a more promising future for me and my brother Ehstar. NC was a breath of fresh air, and with that endless possibilites soon followed. Even though I excelled in sports in high school I joined the marching,pep,and concert bands. Mr. Patterson(Cut) the director just needed somebody to carry and play the bass drum. Thanks to (Cut) I learned how to read and play percussion by ear. This was the initial creative spark I was looking for musically. St. Aug is where I got my network on Different World like. Music played the back for a minute, but not for long. In college I was inspired by Hakim(H-Allah),Campus Hills(P.Stranger,Cavenaugh,Sixx,Twip) Mic_EL, P Batters, Lords of the Underground, DJ Billy Bill and Mr. Freeze mixtapes, Kamikaze's Thur- Sun of W. Blvd(1993-1995), Raleigh Live(every night) and whatever else it's been called. 2001 marked a pivitol turn towards production for me( allitle grant money, initiative, and a lot of grind) birthed Grand View Ent. the multi media production company. Founded by Honcho and Ehstar (myspace/littlemantate) to create opportunities within the industry and promote our compositions(Beats) to the masses. Shopping and networking the music is what we do, so if you down ta ride we got shot gun Holla. | |
