Born and raised in Chicago, IL Shawn began his DJ career at the young age of 13, as a mobile DJ. Shawn and a long time friend opened their very own mobile DJ company, which lasted over 4 years. At the age of 17, Shawn began working for one of the biggest mobile DJ companies in the Northwest Suburbs of Illinois. Doing everything from local birthday parties to extravagant weddings, Shawn learned how to read different types of crowds and play to their liking. While working for this large mobile DJ company, Shawn got the opportunity to demo ESO mixers at the 2000 Atlantic City Mobile DJ Convention and spun for WKSC FM Chicago, Kiss FMs, Mobile Party Unit. Shawn did everything from High School Dances to spinning on stage at their Kiss FM concerts held at the Rosemont Theater and The House OF Blues. In late 2001 Shawn got the break he was looking for. He met one of the owners of Midwests biggest young adult dance club, Zero Gravity and was offered to come spin at their 2001 New Years Eve party. Without hesitation, Shawn accepted and was soon offered the position as a resident DJ at a club he had grown up with. Along with his weekly DJ residency, Shawn began working with some of Chicagos biggest promoters including, Mixmaster Throwdown, Another Level Inc., Club Explosion, Spundae, Ala Carte Entertainment, Global Adrenaline, 360 Entertainment, North Star Entertainment, Groove Chicago and more. He has played at some of Chicagos biggest clubs and events including, Crobar, Vision, The House Of Blues, Spy Bar, Harddrive, Maximus, Circus, Rive Gouche, NY Lounge, O Lounge, Cherry Red, Club Q, North Beach, Sensation 2005, Breathe, Buzz, Oasis 160, North Beach, O'Malleys, Accent Cafe, Energy Thursdays, EuFOURia, Stardust 4, Stix (Southern IL Univeristy), Club 110 (ISU), Boogie Down X-Mas 5, Ontourage, and the list keeps growing!! Just added to the list was Las Vegas's very own, Jet Nightclub! Since being in the Chicago Dance Scene Shawn Edwards released 13 Dance CD Compilations that have all received rave reviews. In 2002 Shawn was heard on a local dance radio station, Energy 92.7& 5, playing live from Zero Gravity. Along with all that, Shawn continues to upload new and fresh mixes to his web site for all to enjoy. Shawn Edwards continues to spin with some of todays top producers and DJs: Bad Boy Bill, JJ Flores, Cascada, Groove Coverage, Steve Smooth, Cosmic Gate, Green Velvet, Richard Humpty Vision, Donald Claude, Hataris, Frankie Bones, CZR, DJ Bam Bam, DJ Sammy, Ian Van Dahl, DJ Funk, Billy The Kid, Tony 2 Much, DJ Caffeine, Mixin Marc, Alex Peace and many other of Chicagos finest club DJs. Recently in 2004 Shawn went on a 22 week national Tour with Pepsi Smash, DJing all over the country and in 2005 he went on a 25 National City tour with VH1 Save the music opening up for pop sensation, Angel Faith. As of late Shawn was just signed to one of Chicago's most inovated and premier clothing lines, Chii Clothing which he now tours localy promoting their new line of clothing. Being in the Chicago club scene 5 years, Shawn Edwards has already started establishing his name as one of Chicagos Premier DJs. With a weekly residency and monthly guest spots all over Chicago, Shawn is sure to give you a tasteful blend of Commercial House, Vocal/Melodic/Uplifting Trance and Top 40, that has crowds all over Chicago dancing and wanting more!!
