this kid grew up in a musical home, and started singin on the chuuuch choir at age 5. with religiously devout parents, he heard only gospel til age six when he found Micheal Jackson thanks to his Aunt Trudy. his first musical hereos were New Edition and the way they fused r&b and hip-hop were very influential in the kid's musical development. after listenin to Run DMC, he wrote his 1st ryhme at age 9. he sang for fun but didnt really show interest until around 15, when girls thought it was dope, lol. he started singin in a gospel acapella group where he learned the art of arrangin harmony. meanwhile, in the world of music, the early 90's mcs werent too fond of singers and that made things really interestin for a kid who loved both equally.he ryhmed with one crew, sang with another crew, never mixin the two(fast forwarding..........)
in early adulthood he formed an r&b group (VERSEZ, what up niggaz!?!?)that lasted a coupla years. bein in the group taught him a lot about the business but it was when the group disbanded that he found his niche and started to merge his ability to ryhme with his ability to sing. (fast forwarding......)
now, he is 1/3 of the hip hop group The Remnant Project, 1/3 of the soul/hip hop band and production team Duality, 1/7 of the hip hop/rock fusion band True Sound, 100% of the solo act Range da Messenga.sick and tired of the genocidal bullshit that our people are fed in the name of hip hop and capitalism, Range is walking the seldom travelled path of the "true artist" (gasp) and hoping to actually make music that sounds (drumroll) original and creative. realizing that music is ministry, he strives to teach and reach listeners with meaningful songs of trial and error, action and reaction. please be encouraged to open up your mind and step away from the organized traps that have been put there to keep u captive.thanx for listenin, feel free to comment...
