Caliban Goodbrain Collaboration - 312008 I decided to upload a couple songs I’ve created with my good friend Thomas Sutherland - Caliban Goodbrain .. Austin Sounds - 1162008 The recent installation of music features 3 tracks - Alcyone, Merope, and Celeno. The tracks were created using sounds recorded in Austin, Texas. I worked in collaboration with Mario Ramiro of São Paulo, Brazil. Mario recorded sound scapes, conversations, laughter, swimmers, skaters, ’spanglish’ and many other sounds. He used a MicroTrack with a stereo microphone that doubled as earphones. The microphone fit in his ears allowing him to record without being noticed. The tracks do not have any additional sounds except for a kick. They open a sonic window to this region of the world, demonstrating some of the dialects and sound environments we are accustomed to in Austin, Texas. Giorgio Moroder |
