Profile GeneratorIpswich Anarchists meet fortnightly on Thursdays at 6pm. We believe in direct action, mutual aid, solidarity and self organisation. Despite what the papers tell you we don't want to live in chaos. We dont go around blowing things up. the essence of anarchism is us organising ourselves, and not having some cunt in Whitehall we'll never meet do it for us. It's about stopping the vicious circles we've got at the moment; where a few people have got more money than they know what to do with while we work our arse off everyday and struggle to get food and keep a roof over our head. We want REAL equality. Our members have varying interests from Community Activism, Anti-Fascist Action, Syndicalism, Disability Advocacy, Animal Rights, Feminism, Eco-Activism, Queer Activism, and much more... Things we're currently involved in include:- - Combatting BNP activity in the local area - Working with other organisations to help combat the NHS crisis - Working with other organisations to help combat the pensions crisis - Setting up new sustainable ethical housing (see the random camel housing co-op on our friends list) - Resisting the building of SnOasis - Benefit Gigs - Setting up a new social centre for the community to use - Monthly Swap Shop in the town center - Anti- ID card work Even if you're not sure that anarchism's right for you but you wanna learn more about what we think or you wanna get involved in any of our projects then get in touch.
