| Edward "Big Ed" Clark has been playing the drums since the young age of 9. Having the gift of perfect pitch, Edward first made his forray onto the music scene as the YOUTH CHOIR DIRECTOR at Greater St. Stephen Full Gospel Baptist Church in New Orleans, LA, under the pastorate of Bish. Paul S. Morton, Sr. While continuing to serve as Youth Choir Director, Edward was hired as the full time drummer of the church, which led to multiple performances around the country. In 2001, Big Ed linked forces with PARTNER IN CRIME PJ Morton to form the band we all know and love, FREESTYLE Nation- which also included JesseBond on lead guitar, Alvin "Cornbread" Garrett on bass, and Sweet Lili Wilson on vocals and tambourine. He currently serves as the Musical Director for the Debra Brown Band, the group that accompanies solo artist PJ Morton. In this role, Big Ed has traveled across the globe, blessing the world with the gift of his rhythm... He has played with SOOOOO many major acts and on several albums, yet he maintains an humble demeanor... That's why we LOVE him So!!! |

Influences: Wow, I have SOOOO many influences... but I'd have to start with Michael Jackson... After God, he's my musical icon. And of course James Cleveland. Most people were sleeping on Hanson, but "ooom-Bop" was musically one of the most brilliant rhythmic works I've ever heard... jk... but Seriously, Phil Collins & ?uestlove are my BIGGEST inspirations musically... and of course Max Roach set the flame... and it continues to burn...
