| Mandeyo : Aux frontières de l'électro et de la tradition berbère. Mandeyo c'est avant tout la réunion de musiciens qui aiment les musiques sans frontières. Un groupe qui expérimente, mélange les sons et empreinte à tous les styles pour créer son propre univers. Le groupe a vu le jour en 2003 à l'initiative de Rachid Sefrioui, guitariste et luthiste franco-marocain. « J'avais rencontré Fred (batterie) et Laurent (platines) sur divers projets musicaux. Jai apprécié leur ouverture sur toutes les musiques sans préjugé de style. J'avais l'idée de mélanger le oud aux platines, les harmonies jazz aux percussions africaines. Sans se limiter à un style défini, laisser le feeling nous guider. J'ai amené les idées de thème et le travail de groupe a fait le reste ». Rachid *************************** Mandeyo : Between electro and berber traditions Above all else, Mandeyo is a meeting between musicians who love music without borders. This is a group who loves to try out new ideas by mixing sounds and styles to create its own universe. The group was created in 2003 by Rachid Sefrioui, a Moroccan-French guitarist and lutist. Rachid Sefrioui plays the lute, and guitar. He is the leader of the group and does the composition and arrangements. After studying harmonies and arrangements at IACP, a school of music in Paris, he played in various jazz groups. Simultaneously, he accompanied singers such as JP Vergneau and Zaniboni. Then he joined Lo’Jo from 1991 to 1994 and later moved to Paris. An album is due out soon. |
