| I love film, books, art, nature, stars, water, people, food, and much more......I love writers like bukowski, denis johnson, borges, burroughs, kerouac, cervantes... love to watch jim jarmusch films, david lynch films, goofy comedies, godard's early films, spaghetti westerns, jerry lewis in his masterpiece, the nutty professor ... love the early more raw-sounding (authentic, uncommercialized) blues, jazz... all kinds of artists like rl burnside, howlin wolf, jimmy rogers, tom waits... some bebop jazz like miles and dexter... some classical music...seems that due to globalization / corporate capitalism / fast food chains / big box stores / commodification of desire and discourse... there's an alienation.... from ourselves, each other.... thus.... we need ......increased tolerance, compassion, understanding what's different from us, non-dogmatism... plurality...sadly, many people travel on packaged tourist tours (even in their everyday lives, moving in an artificial world of media and illusion) so it all becomes just another TV show....I'm worried about a domino effect happening on the planet in the ecosystem due to global warming -- we need to address this and deal with it, live lightly on the Earth, find a new consciousness in our relationship to the planet and to our fellow humans... and other species...............artists give us new insight... liberating our consciousness.... humor is one of my favorite tools for self-transformation -- laughter heals.... meditation helps too.... and making art.... I love to draw, to make films, to write poems and stories and screenplays, and I've done some stand-up comedy at open mikes... plus had much success as a reader of my "stand-up poetry" -- at least in some venuesI hope as a species we can move to a new level because if we keep on with war and ecoplunder of the planet, it's just not going to work out very well for anyonePray, hope, dream, silence is good............... if you'd like to read some of my further ramblings, check out my column on GetUnderground.com ..............I write for Coagula magazine, for Solares Hill newspaper... and I'm working on novels and screenplays.... and always writing poems and making art.... | |
