When I climbed into our rig ~ I knew I had found my callin'. To provide people with the goods needed To keep this country rollin'. Long & lonely highways beckon me A lady trucker is what I choose to be. A world that at one time belonged to men But this is now & that was then. This job is not easy ~ I have a big responsibility. I pilot my rig the best I can Movin' freight across this land. I'm away from home a lot ~ Days turns into weeks. Time fly's by to fast Friends & family said I wouldn't last. That was a long time ago Now over 40 years have passed. At times I may run solo ~ But I'm not alone. Fellow truckers embrace me My family & friends are with me in my heart. I hardly ever get any rest But I know I'm runnin' with the best. Guided by my profession & by God's hand. Passions 2007 Eighteen Wheels & A Dozen Roses I'm a lady trucker ~ Yea that's right I make my livin' holdin' tons of steel in my hands. The lure of the road ruins through my veins My perfume is the diesel fumes in my hair. I live by the code of the road ~ I push this semi alone. I move freight across this land I deliver the food you eat ~ The clothes your family wears Your kids new play things. I make sure the stores can provide most anything that you can imagine. Rail ways cannot reach everywhere. This job is not an easy life I live mostly in my truck ~ Eat at lots of greasy spoons. Ever so often I take a few weeks off ~ Spend time at home with my family. I'm in it for the long haul ~ Got to feel these big wheels turnin'. Whatever you have ~ More than likely a truck got it there. We're the life line across this land.
