My Interests

I'd like to meet: My husband ... he's been in hiding and Id like him to come out and give me a DIVORCE!!!! It's about time anyway, he abandoned us and had a 17-year-old SLUT pregnant since I give birth to our son, so I just can't quite figure out why he won't give me a much awaited and needed divorce sooner ... but hey, if anyone of you in there knows anybody that goes by the name of James "JACK" DelNero, that's him...I'd like to make my peace and closure to this long overdue f*cked_up marriage. And JACK, if you're reading this, PEACE Dude. I married you, didn't I? So I was also a nutcase (but NOT a LOSER .... far from it!!!). And we have a very beautiful and SMART son, JECKO, who is as stubborn as the two of us put together X 100, LOL. You are really missing a lot, but that is your choice. Anyway, let's be friends. Get to know Jecko ... you'll LOVE him, I PROMISE you that.... Parenting ensures one of the most difficult challenges this world has to offer, especially when it arises around the paradox of issue of attachment. Successful parenting is about loving our children, but most of us love them in a very attached way. On the other hand, it also requires that we let go of our children at the appropriate times, which means we must practice some level of non~attachment. Many parents find this difficult because we love our children fiercely, more than we will ever love anyone, and this can cause us to overstep our bounds with them as their independence grows. Yet truly loving them requires that we set them free. Attachment to outcome is perhaps the greatest obstacle on the parenting path, and the one that teaches us the most about the importance of practicing non~attachment. I realized that my son is growing up and learning adult_things everyday just by the things he talks about. One time, he came up to me and said: “Mommy you know what, when I grow up, I’m gonna have six kids, 5 boys and 1 girl. I’m going to work as a police_army_soldier, so that I can be able to protect you and my wife and kids. I want to be an Engineer so that I can build a big house for you…” – and he can’t and won’t stop talking about it. Then it dawned on me, my son is growing up! He is thinking about grown-up things! He has a vision of who he wants to be and how his life will be when he grows up! Soon enough, he will not be my baby young man anymore, but a grown-up adult capable of doing and deciding things on his own. This put a pinch of loneliness in my heart … but I have to accept it, he has to find his own way in this life. He has to be strong enough to be able to face what life has to bring in his path. I, as his mother, have this responsibility, to equip him with wisdom and sensibility on how to get ahead in life. This strength I cannot give him if I will shelter him and protect him all the time. I have to let him be exposed to life’s realities and harshness, but him knowing that I am and will always be behind him, beside him, before him … however and whichever he needs me to be. We commonly perceive our children to be extensions of ourselves, imagining that we know what's best for them, but our children are people in their own right with their own paths to follow in this world. They may be called to move in directions we fear, don't respect, or don't understand, yet we must let them go. This letting go happens gradually throughout our lives with our children until we finally honor them as fully grown adults who no longer require our guidance. At this point, it is important that we treat them as peers who may or may not seek our input into their lives. This allows them, and us, to fully realize the greatest gift parents can offer their offspring – independence. Letting go in any area of life requires a deep trust in the universe, in the overall meaning and purpose of existence. Remembering that there is more to us and our children than meets the eye can help us practice nonattachment, even when we feel overwhelmed by concern and the desire to interfere. We are all souls making our way in the world and making our way, ultimately, back to the same source.
