MONKEEMAN Life in the Backseat MONKEEMAN are back with their third album. "Life in the Backseat" paints a picture of suburbian life, about frustration, greed and anger. Songwriter Ralf Luebke explains: "Our last album "Jumping on the money train" was a hommage to my musical heroes from the 60ies. This time i wanted to write about the place where i grew up. I also wanted to write about the frustration i get from the cynical system that we are living in. Money is all that matters i hope people can share my feelings when they are listening to the songs. There are no songs about people being lucky in love on that record. Musically i wanted a rockin album bursting with energy going back to bands like "The Jam" or "The Clash" which were my faves in my teenage years and which were responsible for me becoming a musician. " Ralf says: "Im into music for a while now and with everyone moaning about poor sales and stuff i can only say its what the bloody record companies deserve. Putting their money into pop idols and bands unable to create a loyal fanbase cause they mean nothing and say nothing wasnt very clever. Rock music from the kids for the kids is all that matters dont trust any wanker telling you how to sell your music. Producing a record these days doesnt cost a fortune anymore and the internet is a good additional way to promote your stuff. Quality will always get somewhere. And in our case please dont steal our music cause you hit the band and not a label.
