| i'm very distressed by the fact that grad school is making my hair fall out, and what i have left, jett is turning grey. i just went vegan. so far, so good. or, perhaps i should be saying, "so(y) far, so(y) good." i'm starting to think that i should come out of retirement and put together a led zeppelin cover band. because that's exactly what the world needs, another mid-thirties weekend warrior trying to reclaim his past glories by getting in the garage and attempting to reproduce the soundtrack to his adolescence. my friends have decided that, were we all x-men, i would be the professor. oh, how i wish that were true. most days, i feel - intellectually, at least - more like someone totally wack, like rockslide. i don't know if there's anything funnier than when my thugged-out neighbor and his hoodrat wife start arguing, and he tries to verbally man up against her and then she starts flipping out and then he starts apologizing. priceless comedy gold, that is. also, i know that phil converse is a genius and a legend and the father of americanist political science and all that, but seriously: boring. boring. boring. dude really needed a ghostwriter. |
