MyHotComments MyHotComments MyHotComments Thank you for visiting my site. Let me tell you what is going on with me these days. I am now married. I was married in September of 03' to a wonderful man named Steve Forbes, who is a firefighter/paramedic. I have a son Tyler from a past relationship who is now 10. On October 19, 2004 Steve and I had a daughter, Taylor. Two days after she was born she was taken into the ER at Northeast Hospital. She then was transfered down to Texas Childrens Hospital, and diagnosed with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome or HLHS. This heart condition requires 3 options, take her home and do nothing, a heart transplant, or a 3 stage surgery. We chose the 3 stage surgery. So she had her first open heart surgery at 9 days old. She remained in the hospital for 3 months after her 1st surgery for the second surgery because her little heart did not get better. So at 11 weeks old she underwent the 2nd surgery. She remained in the hospital another month before she was discharged. We had her home for 3 weeks when again she was having problems, so she was admitted back to Texas Childrens on March 12 and was there for 9 long months. Her heart function was very depressed and on May 2, 2005 she was placed on the heart transplant list. So this child was in the hospital for over a year minus the 3 weeks we were home the first time. She was released on December 12, 2005 just in time for Christmas. At this time she did come home with a central line in her chest and on a drip called Milrinone that helps her heart sqeeze. She also has a feeding tube placed in her stomach. After two hospital visits for an infection in the central line it was pulled. Today her heart function has improved and she was taken off the transplant list on March 6, 2006. She may eventually need a heart transplant in the future, but for right now she is doing great. If you are not an organ donor please become one. If you would like any more info or know of someone with a heart condition please let me know and I would love to answer their questions or talk with them. I have been down a long journey with Taylor, but she is doing great. GOD is wonderful and I thank him everyday for the gift of both Tyler and Taylor. Prayer works and it is an amazing thing because I have a miracle on my hands. I recently just had a baby boy, Hunter. We are both thankful he was born healthy.
