| A slice of life from beginning to end, “Tales from 4th & Jackson” showcases Roland Ramos’s cross-genre abilities, while keeping close to the “I-tinual” message of Peace & Love. Laced with nimble sax-work, multiple percussionists, & Ramos’ special brand of harmonious vocal lines, “Tales from 4th & Jackson” is an exploration through Love, Escape, and Gentrification. ..“Tales from 4th & Jackson” was recorded by Victor Cornette @ Myxolidian Productions Studio in Wyckoff, NJ. Alongside Ramos, studio performers include Saxophonist Matt Carl, Vocalist Sirena Mari, Keyboardist & Mandolin maestro David Ribyat, Drummers, Russ DiBonna, & James Allen, Percussionist Nelson Pla, Bassist Maggie Perrotta, as well as Victor Cornette on the majority of Bass & Guitar tracks. .. As the principle song writer for NJ based reggae-soul band Forbidden Fruit, Ramos is adept at many musical stylings. “Tales of 4th & Jackson” is a collection of personal reflections & abstract musical compositions. This includes explorations of Folk Music, Nyabingi Drumming, Sexy Bossa-Nova, Stax Records sounds, & Jamaican Roots Reggae. .. Hoboken, NJ has acted as the “Mile-Square” muse for this CD. At age 9, Ramos attended a private school in Hoboken where he learned to play guitar and sing while living in Teaneck, NJ. Music:Member Since: 12/23/2004Band Members: In addition to being a musician, I also organize Art events in Hudson County. I run a gallery space out of my living space in Hoboken, NJ. the last event "PhotoSkin" was a great success. the below video shows the development & production of the event. The choreographer is Caridad Rivera, and her models are all wearing Latex paint, which conforms to every contour of the body."Paz Y Amor" translated means Peace and Love. I wrote this song in reaction to the intersection in whcih I live. 4th & Jackson. I take the revitilization of my neigborhood to heart, so I called my little gallery space "4th & Jackson". the events have gfrown to large to accomodate my little house, so "4th & Jackson" is now the nam,e of an organizationthat runs art events outside of the primary residence and all over our beloved Hoboken.I also create commercials. Below is a short commercial for the "The ROck Photography of Laura Desantis-Olsson" a friend and talented photographer.
