| "His name is Maxwell Eaton. He’s a survivor. But not because he crawled out of Robert Johnson’s head- but rather how he crawled into it (proverbially speaking of course); Because it was the devil’s horse man Robert Johnson who gave him a lift from Katrina to Finland. Maxwell is a survivor. Thought a hurricane party could consist of mirrors, candles, one man (himself), and an old steel guitar. But when the party ended and no favors were had- Maxwell opened his door and Katrina had killed his car! Maxwell is a fucking survivor who hates to drown! So Maxwell biked down Jefferson highway, against the rain. Dropping his bike at the side of the Huey P. Bridge- and crying out desperately to the uncaring, cold metal, cars of Old New Orleans’ refugees. No one cared about him. Till Robert Johnson, the devil’s henchman stopped his Cadillac DeVille ~ With Hank William’s in the back~ And Hank with the power window’s down, embracing the rain with his voice, asks Max: “Where you headed boy? You seem lost.” “I’m just surviving; this is all this August man can do.” “Get in, because a party ain’t just one man!” And Johnson opens the doors, and offers our man the magic blunt. Over the narrow bridge Maxwell thought of friends and comrades, the rain came in the window and made the car feel like it was flying and swimming at the same time. “Where can the man drop you off?” White Hank Williams asked. “I got a blues man in Finland who can do me a favor.” And so the car rolls on, as it always does, to the Nashville county airport.
