Gli ObliviO nascono dall'idea di cinque ragazzi ventenni provenienti da Roma: Emiliano, Dario, Mario, Daniele e Stefano accomunati dalla passione per le sonorità Doom- Death di Katatonia, Opeth ed Anathema. La difficoltà di trovare una reale collocazione nella società contemporanea, il rifiuto di appartenere ai suoi meccanismi, la dispersione urbana incastonata in Roma città eterna sono il perno esistenziale di questo progetto che ha come obiettivo la descrizione di una realtà che non lascia vie alternative all'omologazione se non una strenua chiusura intimista. Dopo alcuni cambi di formazione, tra cui la dipartita per motivi personali di Stefano, gli ObliviO arrivano al primo demo registrato nel 2005 dal titolo "Songs for Unforgettable Suffering" con l'aggiunta nella line up di Massimo alle voce ed Adriano alle tastiere. Il demo suscita l'interesse di numerose testate italiane e convince il gruppo a realizzare il salto decisivo realizzando l'EP "Dreams Are Distant Memories" registrato e mixato da Giuseppe Orlando nei suoi "Outer Sound Studios" che viene prontamente notato dalla cult-lebel My Kingdom Music che mette sottocontratto la band capitolina. L'aggiunta di tre nuove canzoni al sopracitato EP ( tra cui "Distant Memories" che vede la partecipazione come guest di Carmelo Orlando) da vita al disco vero e proprio che mantiene inalterato il titolo di origine. Con l'uscita il 21 settembre del full-lenght "Dreams Are Distant Memories" accompagnato dal video di "No Sense Of Me" gli ObliviO si propongono al grande pubblico ricevendo numerosi consensi di testate giornalistiche italiane e non ma la necessità di spingersi oltre da vita alla dolorosa scelta di rimanere in 4 con la dipartita di Adriano e Massimo e l' acquisizione del doppio ruolo di cantante- chitarrista di Mario. La musica degli Oblivio ora si può definire come un incrocio del post rock di derivazione eterea e sognante dei Sigur Ros e degli Slowdive con il metal-avantgarde di Katatonia e Novembre, tutto filtrato in un'atmosfera che rende chiaramente omaggio alle radici italiane del gruppo anche grazie all'uso della lingua italiana nei testi accanto al tradizionale inglese. Il prossimo disco é in fase di realizzazione e la sua uscita è prevista per i primi mesi del 2009:
