| O mundo é dos estranhos. Se for um estranho apaixonado, então sorte dos espectadores. Espere as declarações mais inusitadas, as ações mais exaltadas, o amor mais intenso e sem convenções. E se o apaixonado for um membro do Pullovers querendo ser correspondido, espere também pelas melhores canções de amor. Bruno Yutaka Saito (Ilustrada, Folha de S. Paulo) Quando eles apareceram, em 1999, vestiam meigos pulôveres. No sujinho e tosco cenário underground paulistano, fomos introduzidos ao seu mundo de letras em inglês e alheio às músicas alheias. Após três CDs independentes e o reconhecimento no cenário alternativo, os Pullovers querem mais. A paixão pelo espírito indie e pela língua inglesa já nao basta. Fim de relacionamento, troca de integrantes (além de Luiz Venâncio e Daniel Hirata, entram na banda Rodrigo Lorenzetti, Jonas Bernardi, Bruno Serroni e Ângelo Lorenzetti), rápida passagem de tempo. Novos instrumentos (além das famosas guitarras: teclados, piano, violoncelo, violão...), novos paradigmas e novas canções, todas em português. De coração partido, os Pullovers surpreendem. Continuam fofos, mas não tolos; românticos, mas não grudentos; sacanas, mas não vulgares. E mais brasileiros do que nunca, passando finalmente a dar as caras no tradicional cenário da música brasileira. Ano 2007: garoto paulista encontra garota carioca. Ano 1932: São Paulo dá a largada na Revolução. "Quando voce sorriu / me reparti em antes e depois / hoje eu me rendo, Rio / Mil novecentos e trinta e dois". As novas canções sao de amor. "Todas as cançoes sao de amor", canta Luiz Venâncio. "Diz a cidade que você / um dia volta pra ficar. / Em cada poste ou outdoor / dizem o que eu ja sei décor. / Quem inventou o final feliz? / Como é que eu pude acreditar / em Hollywood, no que diz / letra de canção popular?". Para eles, o amor verdadeiro acontece no asfalto, sem vista pro mar, como na sua amada selva de pedra paulistana. Os Pullovers deixam os cenários paradisíacos para os filmes, para as novelas. E deixam canções sem jeito de tirar da nossa cabeça. Como todo amor verdadeiro. After recording 3 independent CDs and being accepted into the circuit of alternative music, the Pullovers are asking for more. Their love of indie music and English lyrics is no longer enough.The end of an era, change of performers in the group, time goes by fast. New instruments (added to the famous electric guitars, keyboards, piano, cello and guitar), new paradigms and new songs with lyrics only in portuguese.Their new songs are love songs. "All songs are love songs", sings Luiz Venâncio. They think that true love can happen on an asphalt road with no view on the sea, just as it does in their beloved stone jungle of São Paulo. The Pullovers believe that idylic scenes belong to films and soap-operas, while they fix in our memories their unforgettable songs. Exactly as in every true love. |
