| MS LARSEN wild leading vocalist raised on the ashes of an Emi-distributed pop rock act that split up in 2005, brought from hollow into light her new band: LUNACY BOX.
Currently alive and kickin and ready to spread disease around, the band released their first self-produced EP of the same name at the beginning of June 2005, which much benefited from the precious arrangements of their guitarist Chris.
Other lunatics are: Andrea (bass), Dave (drums).
Chris was the former leader of DISCIPLINATHA, the most provocative cult band of the It alternative scene of the 1990’s.. a band which is not necessary to introduce -providing you’re old enough and have been following the Italian scene that is! Lunacy Box’s feeler is also provocative, however very different from the politically oriented project of Disciplinatha. Lunacy’s sound is familiar to Ms Larsen and Chris, as it constitutes a return to where they came from: indie rock with a dose of dark wave shades. The first E.P. was well received by web zines abroad and after MEI CONVENTION 2005, an important meeting of italian indie labels, Lunacy Box’s “CAN’T BREATHE” has been included on: “I-NDIPENDENTE – THE NEW WAVE OF ITALIAN INDEPENDENT MUSIC” an the I-tunes compilation by EDEL. The compilation’s debut was successful and “CAN’T BREATHE” was NR°1 on the TOP DOWNLOAD chart for most of the time. Lunacy Box have been rewarded on Saturday Nov 25th 2006 at MEI in Faenza (RA) by label Edel as winning band of project “I-NDIPENDENTE the New Wave of Italian Indie Music” (a compilation exclusively published on I-tunes). The band completed LP recordings, and all members expressed lots of appreciations to their guests: drummer Mr. Justin Bennett from Skinny Puppy and guitarist Mr. Dario Parisini former Disciplinatha for their magnificent contribution on album songs. The LP which will be entitled NEW SAINTS AND PUNISHERS is under final processing for mixing and mastering.STAY TUNED!!! |
