Plouen Catximbes neix al 2002. Al 2003 treu l'EP 'Es veu pluja des de dins' i al 2006 edita amb la discogràfica Propaganda pel Fet el seu primer llarga durada, 'Plouen Catximbes'. Durant aquest temps la banda actua en diferents escenaris catalans, i festivals com el Senglar Rock, el Mercat de Música Viva de Vic, el Fino's Reggae Festival, L'Altaveu, Barraques de Girona, Sabadell... La música d'aquest treball és una trobada entre el reggae, el pop, rock... que el grup dóna forma amb la personalitat del seu cantant Albert Palomar. El grup guanya el premi Altaveu Frontera, i el premi Enderrock per votació popular en la categoria de grup revelació. Aquest març surt "Telescopi", el segon llarga durada de la banda, que abandona el reggae com a referència i es situa molt més a prop del pop indie de finals dels '90, sense por en fer rock, power pop, punk... un disc molt ampli de mires i que els porta a l'escena amb la força convincent de l'essència del rock'n'roll pur, i del pop dur modern.
